Home inventory file
The threat of loss of property from theft and other causes is always present.
An accurate inventory and proof of ownership at the time of a loss can make
claim settlement easier and faster. The following list will help you to compile a good inventory file.
 | include the name, brand, and description of the items which will be on the
file |
 | include serial numbers of appliances |
 | keep receipts, purchase orders, invoices, warranties and guarantees
along with a description of the item |
 | detailed records of antiques, jewelry, silver, major appliances, and
collectors' items |
 | photographs of your valuables should be taken and kept with your records |
 | keep your inventory up-to-date |
 | keep your inventory file in a safe deposit box or other place outside of
your home |
